1018 families received 43,250 pounds of food from our team today at the Allegheny County Airport. It was hard to not get emotional upon hearing the trembles in the voices of our fellow Pittsburghers as they described to us the pain they are going through trying to make it through the devastation of the Covid-19 virus.
PAART is humbled and honored to play a small part in bringing hope to these people and their pets. For a brief moment we were able to help our neighbors, our friends, and our community on a special mission from danger to safety.
We could not have done this without the incredible work of the Allegheny County Airport Authority. When we asked for their help they responded in an overwhelming fashion. They said it best when they explained that the airport is there to serve the community. Thank you to the whole staff at KAGC, the Airport Authority, the Police and Fire departments, and especially to you, our tireless supporters for which none of this would have been possible without your support. It was a good day.
