The No Dog Left Behind Landplane departed from Pittsburgh and went on a 3-day journey to rescue 40 dogs and 9 cats from underfunded, rural shelters in Virginia to take to safety in New York. The mission was sponsored by hometown Major League Baseball star Sean Casey whose love of animals runs just as deep as his love for baseball. Thank you Sean for your incredible support!
Sometimes shelters, even with the best intentions, just don’t have the resources to keep up with the demand of the local animal population. Food, water, space, medicine, and other animal amenities all come at a premium when there are more animals than these individual shelters can support. No Dog Left Behind’S mission is to support these animals and shelters by taking these dogs and cats from a place of scarcity to a place of abundance; from danger to safety.
On the return journey Land Pilots Jennifer Tancraitor and Don Siegel were accompanied by 49 dogs and cats that now have a chance at a future!
These precious dogs and cats were taken to North Shore Animal League America for a bright future with new families and happier lives.
2 landpilots, 1300+ miles, 3 days and just about 50 rescue animals is a recipe for countless happiness in the lives of the families that adopt these pets. Please support these dogs and cats by choosing to adopt the next time you’re in the market for a pet or share with those that you know are looking.
