The No Dog Left Behind Air and Land Team united for a unique mission to give a second chance to 15 special animals. No Dog Left Behind Pilots Jonathan Plesset and Pete Lehmann flew the Airvan down to Morehead, KY where Wags to Riches and the Wolfe County Animal Shelter were waiting. Some of these animals were trained by Kentucky inmates to become compassion animals for Veterans. The idea that these animals helped change the life of an inmate who needed a chance and a Veteran who needed support is exactly why we do what we do. Helping animals while enriching the lives of people, it’s in our DNA.
All 15 flew first class back to Pittsburgh where Landpilots Jim Moran and Sally Morrison were waiting in the Landplane to take 10 of these special dogs, including the animals that were trained as compassion pets, to Pals4Pets Rescue Inc. The 14 year old German Shepard went to Char-Wills German Shepherd Rescue and the rest of these doggies remained in Pittsburgh and went to Cross Your Paws Rescue.
Great work to everyone who helped make this rescue a reality.
