JUST IN: 20 animals in immediate danger are now safe thanks to No Dog Left Behind’s new partnership with the Best Friends Animal Society.

Land pilots Kim Schaeffer and Craig Edwards traveled to Lynchburg, Virginia to rescue 14 dogs and 6 cats. After an overnight rest in Lynchburg, Kim and Craig loaded up the animals for their journey to Best Friends Animal Society – New York City. Our drivers maneuvered through the streets of SOHO in our big box truck with ease!

These animals were pulled by the Best Friends Animal Society – Atlanta crew from the VERY overcrowded Dekalb and Fulton County shelters in Georgia with some coming from other shelters in the Atlanta area also with at risk animals.

One of the dogs Apollo, a 170 pound Malamute from Taysia Blue Husky and Malamute Rescue needed a lift and hopped on the No Dog Left Behind Land Plane to NYC with his final destination a loving home in New Hampshire! Snow and cold weather are what this boy was built for!

This mission is being done in honor of “Mildren Jean Winfield.” Mildred was rescued by No Dog Left Behind from a shelter in Kentucky and his living her best life with her Mom, Lorinda Winfield. A big thank you Lorinda for giving Mildred a wonderful life and for her support and generosity to No Dog Left Behind.

If you are interested in making any of these dogs or cats a part of your family, please contact Best Friends Animal Society – New York!
