For 6 years we have been trying to help animals who need a second chance. Along the way we have laughed, we have been angry, tired, and have shed more than a few tears. The reward is obviously watching these animals move on from danger to safety,. But as time has gone on, and we have a little more perspective, we have started to appreciate more and more watching the rescue bug take hold of others just as it had to bring us all to No Dog Left Behind.
A group of kids from the The Western Pennsylvania School For The Deaf caught the rescue bug as well and a few weeks ago sponsored a mission to give hope to animals in need. Yesterday they visited our headquarters and met a few of the puppies that they helped. Witnessing the beginnings of a new generation of animal rescuers put a smile on all of our faces. Seeing in their eyes the same expression that all of had on our first missions brought things full circle.
Thank you kids for reminding us of the magic of giving yourself to a cause bigger than yourself.
