We had a very memorable rescue this morning. Pilots Brad Childs and Jonathan Plesset took the Diamond down to Bluefield, WV and picked up 11 adorable puppies. The trip had a sad undertone when Brad found out the night before that his beloved Lab Jake was very sick. We are all hoping that Jake gets better and can join us for a rescue. Keep Jake in your thoughts. The rescue featured Lab and German Shepard mixes along with a few other puppies that all went to NY with our newest pilot Vijay Gulati in his Piper. Channel 11 showed up at the airport to cover the event along with about 30 people who just wanted the chance to see the puppies and support No Dog Left Behind. We have already surpassed the number of dogs we have rescue last year and we are on pace to set a huge record of dogs saved.
