The No Dog Left Behind team was busy with two life saving missions at the same time. Between our land and air crew, we covered 6 states! The Land Team deployed first on a two day, two team mission.

No Dog Left Behind Land Pilots Kim Schaeffer and Craig Edwards set out to meet the fine folks at Sierra”s Haven For Pets and Paris Animal Welfare Society in western Ohio. They spent the night and woke up to load 38 dogs who needed a second chance into the No Dog Left Behind Land Plane. Once loaded they headed east to Belle Vernon PA where a second No Dog Left Behind Team was waiting. No Dog Left Behind Landpilots David Stash and Fran Ruppen took command of the Landplane and relieved Kim and Craig. Once back on the road they headed for St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in New Jersey where all 38 of these animals will be going to find their new homes.

On this trip, we worked with the WayStation Sister Shelter Program. The WayStation Sister Shelter Program is leading the way for shelters in the Northeast who have both the capacity and the potential adopters to accept animals from overburdened organizations where lower population density and a lack of affordable, accessible spay/neuter services result in homeless dog numbers that far exceed available homes.

If you see a dog that you fall in love with here please contact St. Huberts to arrange for and adoption!

Great work to everyone who made this mission possible! We like to think that at some point on this trip the No Dog Left Behind Plane flew right over the No Dog Left Behind Landplane as both the air and land teams were simultaneously deployed.
