33 dogs took a second chance journey from three different shelters in Eastern Kentucky thanks to a lot of love and a few No Dog Left Behind Land Pilots. Included on this trip were four recent graduates from the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex! These special dogs live with the inmates for 6 weeks and are a part of a basic manners training program. Once they graduate they are taken to Pals4Pets Rescue Inc in Kendall NY where they are placed with veterans at no charge! Dogs that were once without a future, rehabilitated by inmates, and then placed with veterans all in the name of a second chance. Such an amazing and inspirational journey.

Our amazing Land Pilots, Lisa Thomas and Jim Moran left on Friday afternoon, rested up at a hotel in Kentucky, and then met the folks from Morgan County Animal Shelter -West Liberty,Kentucky, Wolfe County Animal Shelter, and Wags To Riches – Helping Animals In Need bright and early! 33 adorable passengers got all buckled up and departed in the Landplane for Pittsburgh! Once they arrived they met Laurie Norsen from Pals4Pets, and then Tracey Lynn and her crew from Bridge To Home Animal Rescue where the first group of passengers disembarked – but barked–a lot!

We switched teams at the Allegheny County Airport and No Dog Left Behind Land Pilots Jennifer Tancraitor and Timothy Bouvy took the controls of the Landplane as the last little group of passengers continued on to our friends at the Adams County SPCA in Gettysburg! Last we heard everyone is settling in nicely and getting ready to have a home to call their own forever!

It was a long day for everyone involved, but you know what? Each and every person involved is ready to do it all over again for the sake of saving these precious lives and sending them on to be loving companions for so many people. Everyone wins and these dogs will get to do what they love to do best; show us the true, purest form of love there is, unconditional.
