32 animals were flown from Danger to Safety by No Dog Left Behind Pilots Jonathan Plesset, Pete Lehmann, Brad Childs, and Brian Moody. This mission took on special meaning as we did it honor of solider James Fair who was disabled by an IED in Afghanistan. His example of dedication, overcoming the odds, and service to something greater than yourself is at the core of what No Dog Left Behind strives to be. Real hero’s are guys like James who elevate who we are as humans. Thank you James for your inspiring courage.

Early on a cold wintery day No Dog Left Behind Pilots Jonathan and Pete flew to Dublin, VA to meet an incredible group of animal rescuers from Pulaski County, VA Animal Control who had 29 dogs and 3 guinea pigs waiting at the airport. Each one of these animals was cuter than the next! Once loaded on board the No Dog Left Behind Plane the guys headed back to Pittsburgh.

After landing at the Allegheny County Airport we dropped off three guinea pigs to Wheek Care Guinea Pig Rescue. No Dog Left Behind Pilots Brad and Air Force Pilot Brian Moody took over the controls and flew 29 dogs to Youngstown, OH where they met New Lease on Life Rescue. All 29 dogs will get the best possible care as they complete their journey from danger to safety and get their second chance.

This mission and James’ story inspired us. We ask that you please support Homes For Our Troops and make a donation in honor of James. Read about James and learn more about how you can help here:
