12 dogs from the Humane Society of St Thomas made a special trip with Kenny Chesney’s Love for Love City foundation yesterday on a private plane with dozens of other animals who were in need of desperate help while the island continues to recover from this Falls devastating hurricanes. While the story is no longer in the news, the mission to help the islands abandoned and misplaced animals continues.

No Dog Left Behind Landpilot Christina McCool Colantoni, along with Pet Search’s Kent Knight, spent close to 24 hours on the road in one roundtrip from Pittsburgh to Statesville, NC to meet the plane and load up 12 of these animals who will get a second chance at Pet Search’s facility in Washington, PA. Accompanying the 12 dogs from St. Thomas were 2 senior dogs from South Carolina who hitched a ride with us on their way to Senior Hearts Rescue & Renewal. These senior dogs now have the chance to live out their lives in a furever home instead of a shelter.

This mission was made possible by a generous sponsorship in the name of Alex and Ava Kronman for their Bar and Bat Mitzvah’s. Alex and Ava are huge animal lovers and to celebrate them on their journey from childhood to adults this mission, and the rescue of these 14 animals, is in their honor. Great work everyone involved in making this rescue possible!
