No Dog Left Behind is built on the importance of second chances. For animals, these rescue trips are an opportunity to be reborn. For people, its a reminder that by saving these animals we can make our lives better. 14 animals went on that second chance journey yesterday with our team. The impact of this mission and these animals has special meaning for all of us.
Landpilots Don Seigel and Melissa Guiliani set off early in the morning for the Morgan County Animal Shelter in Kentucky to meet 14 special dogs. Within that group, 5 were specially trained by prison inmates to become service animals for veterans. The prison inmates, given the chance to make a positive contribution, they jumped at the chance to help. These dogs were just going to be another sad statistic. Now they will impact the lives of humans in a far reaching way. 5 veterans now have service animals to help them ease back into society thanks to a prison rehab program in Kentucky.

Upon returning back to Pittsburgh a second team of Landpilots, Jeff Wockley and Lisa Thomas, departed for the Pals4Pets Rescue Inc in Batavia, NY to deliver these special animals to our incredible soldiers who we are honored and grateful to have helped.
Special thanks to the folks at Adams County SPCA who met our team in Pittsburgh to take a few of these animals. Adams County has an incredible track record of placing our rescues!
