PAART Land Pilots Dave Turner and Kim Schaeffer Rescue a Total of 58 Dogs, Puppies, Cats, and Kittens from Overcrowded Shelters in Virginia to a Life of Hope

A constant theme with animal shelters is the unfortunate situation of overcrowding. Too many dogs, cats and other animals left to stray end up in these shelters, epitomizing the recently popularized saying, “too many mouths, not enough to go around”.

Many people find animal companions that bring joy to their home and family from these shelters but when a shelter is tight on resources and when more animals are being left to stray rather than being adopted in the area, the shelter and animals could be in for tough times.

Sometimes, the worst happens to these dogs, cats and animals at no fault of their own ….

North Shore Animal League America

Fortunately, there are organizations like the North Shore Animal League America that are willing to step up to support these animals and shelters. The PAART Landplane recently supported such an act of generosity by providing transportation of donated food and supplies down to SPCA of Martinsville – Henry County, Virginia and bringing 45 dogs and 13 cats back to North Shore Animal League America. In a single return journey, PAART and North Shore Animal League America were able to support 100’s of animals through food and supplies and also by bringing some back to opportunity and a chance of getting into loving homes.

North Shore Animal League America’s philosophy is so simple yet powerful, and their numbers show it – they’ve now rescued more than 1 million homeless pets giving them a chance at happiness! One million is reached one dog, cat and any other pet at a time and they just took in 58 pets on this PAART land mission as they move onward and upward to their next milestone!

Rescue Dogs & Cats:

And what wonderful dogs and cats they’ll be getting. On this mission’s passenger list we have Golden Retrievers, Huskies, Labradors, Terriers, Hounds, Mastiffs, Collies, Boxers, and two litters of the most adorable kittens.
