Can we get 4 dogs delivered to military veterans in time for Christmas? This was the challenge we faced with only two days to go till the big day. These special animals were trained by inmates in Kentucky as a second chance for both the prisoners and the animals. Landpilots Teresa Gamble and Brandon Lyda were up for the task of driving from Pittsburgh to Kentucky and then to Erie to make this special Christmas rescue a reality. For Brandon, a Vet himself, the mission took on special meaning.

These dogs would have been lost if it wasn’t for this incredible rehabilitation program. Teresa and Brandon met up with the folks at the Morgan County Animal Shelter and loaded these special dogs for their journey. Like all of our missions there are challenges and pitfalls that make each one difficult. This mission had its challenges but with the clock running we had to grant these vets, who have given so much to all of us, their wish and get them these special dogs that each of them received free of charge from our friends at Pals4Pets Rescue Inc.

We are thrilled to report that as many of us are getting ready for tomorrows holiday, and tonights festivities, there are a few vets and their pooches in New York right now getting used to each other and developing that special bond that keeps all of us here at PAART ready and willing to go the extra mile to try and make a difference. Merry Christmas everyone. We hope your holidays are as special and that tomorrow brings another day of hope for our furry friends.
