16 cats and 2 dogs flew to a second chance from an overcrowded shelter on the No Dog Left Behind Plane with No Dog Left Behind Pilots Rebecca Mihalcik and Pete Lehmann. Under a blanket of fog, and a cold front that was moving through causing severe winds, these two pilots had the right stuff to get the job done and provide relief when a shelter reached capacity.

We got a desperate call from our friends at Alexander County Animal Services. Their shelter had reached maximum capacity and 18 animals needed to be moved immediately. Rebecca and Pete headed to Statesville Airport in North Carolina where they met all 18 of these special animals. Once loaded into the plane they took off and flew North East to Manassas Regional Airport in Virginia where they met Fancy Cats & Dogs Rescue Team who agreed to take in these little guys.

The team logged the maximum amount of hours we can fly that day with strong winds slowing us down. Pete and Rebecca did a fantastic job and 18 animals have a new chance thanks to these two incredible pilots. Great work everyone!!!
