On a day with dangerously high winds pilot Pete Lehmann and his better half Ann Valdes risked the elements and their capacity to sit for 6 hours in a tiny cockpit to rescue 4 dogs from euthanasia and deliver them to freedom. Using the trusty Diamond the due faced 40kts headwinds and landing with winds gusting over 30kts. The other pilots when asked if they could make this trip relied with an affirmative “Hell no!” Over 6 1/2 hours in the air today for this rescue duo. We were glad to have our most experienced pilot on board to battle conditions that would keep almost anyone else out the air. Great job today Pete and Annie. You are our heroes today.
